Newton Rigg Gets A Roundhouse

December 22nd 2009

We are pleased to announce the completion of the Roundhouse at Sewborwens Farm, Penrith, which is a part of the Newton Rigg Campus.

The weather has really been against us on this project first of all with the rain and subsequent flooding suffered by the whole of Cumbria and now the heavy snow, but its done along with an IAE refit in a conventional building.

This 8 pen beef unit included a rainwater harvesting system, and is the first building we have done for an educational institution putting Newton Rigg and The University of Cumbria on the map as a forward thinking University.

Estate Manager David Woodcock has put a lot of time and effort into getting this project off the ground and we look forward to working with him over the comming years on the trials that will be undertaken under his watchful eye.
